A few weeks ago, Thomas, Daniel and I were invited to a Kid’s Pizza Party at Strada in The Mailbox in Birmingham. I have been to Strada in the past but it was before we had Thomas and Daniel so I did not really know what to expect. We were warmly greeted with Prosecco for the adults and organic juices/smoothies for the children. We looked through the adults and kids menu and gave the attentive staff our orders before Thomas and Daniel had a chance to make their own pizzas.
Thomas and Daniel enjoyed making their pizzas. Thomas even got complimented on his tomato sauce covering technique by the chef which made him really pleased. While we waited for their pizzas to cook, we went to back to the table and eagerly awaited our starters. For my starter, I had the Tomato Bruschetta which was very fresh and tasty. The colours were beautiful too. Thomas and Daniel shared the Veggie Sticks and Garlic Flatbread from the kids menu. I forgot to take a photo of the garlic flatbread but Thomas loved it. I was very impressed with the tomato sauce with the veggie sticks as it was full of herbs and was delicious. Daniel and I could of eaten a bucket load of it! For their mains, Thomas and Daniel both had the Margherita Pizza from the kids menu. They also had the pizza that they had made themselves too so they had a lot of food to eat! They both gave it a good go though and loved having pizza twice! I had the Margherita Pizza from the adults menu for my main course. It was large and had lovely tomato sauce and big pieces of mozzarella on it so it was a winner in my book! The base was the perfect thickness too. For pudding, the boy’s had chocolate ice cream from the kids menu which they enjoyed immensely. It was a generous portion and they got quite a bit of it around their faces! My dessert was Affogato which is an Italian classic of vanilla ice cream drenched in a shot of Espresso. It was the first time I have had it and I loved it. The sweetness of the ice cream and the sharpness of the coffee alongside the hot v cold element was the perfect combination. I will have this dessert again soon!
Overall, we had a lovely time at Strada and I would quite happily go there for a family meal at any time. The kids menu is very reasonably priced at £6.75 for three courses and a drink. The food is all very fresh and the portions are generous for both the adults and the children. The set menu for the adults is priced at £10.95 for two courses and £13.95 for three courses meaning you can have a lovely family meal without breaking the bank!
We dined as guests of Strada. All opinions are our own. We were not required to give a positive review
